This centenarian refuge is located in the Vosges mountains, at 1060 m of altitude and close to the Ballon d’Alsace. The unspoiled and salvage nature of the mountain like the warming and peaceful interior setting make this refuge of the Baerenkopf a unique place in the area.
It is a traditional wooden chalet that welcomes you, one hour away from all roads. That’s why the hikers like its calm and serenity since generations. Today the refuge proudly assumes its role with more comfort, in the respect of the environment: running water in summer, lighting by solar power, fitted kitchen, pleasant dormitories (21 beds).
