It is a programme woven of green, white and red that begins with the overture to Rossini's Barber of Seville, conceived here as a perfect introduction to Niccolò Paganini's breathtaking Violin Concerto No. 2, op. 7 in B minor. "Viva Italia!" you will shout out after succumbing to the virtuosity of the Albanian violinist Tedi Papavrami! As a soloist, chamber musician and fine teacher, he is one of the most accomplished musicians of his generation. This work is a firework display, a must in the repertory that all lovers of Cremona's instruments will love. The creation Italia by Pierre Thilloy, our Associate Artist, then brings a vibrant moment of contemporaneity in the midst of these 19th century masterpieces. The transalpine excursion ends with the shimmering pages of one of the most famous Italian composers: Giuseppe Verdi. The rhythms, accents, colours, melodic profiles... everything here has its roots in the Italian language. A voluble, virtuoso, brilliant and warmly flavoured programme.
