Tchaika is an old actress in the twilight of her career. She is lost in the darkness. A young girl appears behind her back to remind her that she is on stage and that this is her last performance, the audience is watching her... She has to act! Her role is that of Arcadina in The Seagull, her favourite play. Chaika starts the show. But it's not the right set, the actors have disappeared and gradually her text fades from her memory. Chaika hangs on. Alone, adrift between the desire to perform and oblivion, she follows the plot of The Seagull. In her confusion she tries to reconstruct the play, navigating between Chekhov's fiction and her own reality. Like the characters in The Seagull, she is at the point in her life where she must choose to continue or give up. Delusional dialogues with her son and repeated abandonments by her lover revive the young actress she once was. Chaika manages to redefine the new theatre of her life and gives us a heroic and decadent struggle breaking the tragic fate of her gull.
