A child gymnast, Michel KELEMENIS began dancing at the age of seventeen in Marseille and composed his first choreographies at a very early age. A lover of movement, he gave music a central place and often commissioned original works. In recent years, the choreographer, who has a deep admiration for his dancers, has experienced moments of true grace with them. It was in their presence that the desire arose to rediscover Bach's Magnificat, a piece that was the foundation of his own musical culture and a source of intense joy. The daring idea of choreographing the monumental work in a grand choral gesture immediately took shape. Magnifiques thus becomes a veritable tribute to the performers, who shine in this hymn to youth and the inexhaustible energy of the feeling of immortality.
