La pointe du compas
La pointe du compas
Details
Adolescence or the changing of the body. The transition from childhood to adulthood is a pivotal moment in the development of each individual.
Many young girls realise very early on that their bodies "pose a problem". More often than not, it is "too much". Too visible, too hidden, too big, too masculine, too provocative...
Tessa, a schoolgirl, speaks out and challenges us. She's fed up with the feminine, and all that it drags behind it. The namby-pamby, the weakness and the dependence. With a sharp eye, she scrutinises the world around her and the crushing baggage that comes with being born a girl. Men, rightly or wrongly, seem to her to be freer and more enviable. She tells us about the outfit she decides to hide in, an XXL tracksuit, which will finally allow her to get out of "the sex zone, the flirting and all the mess that goes with it". She throws it all away with humour and candour. Behind her provocative speech, we discover the portrait of a young girl put under a bell by a terrified mother. But Tessa refuses to be afraid.
