Music - belfort

Ensemble Arcanes Organ Yves Lamey Conductor Jean-Michel Montornès The religious hymn of the Stabat Mater celebrating the compassion of the Virgin is attributed to the Franciscan poet Jacopone Todi around 1300. From the 16th century onwards, composers appropriated the poem and set it to music. From the Renaissance onwards, a large number of scores were produced, right up to the twentieth century. The concert is introduced by Antonio Lotti's famous Crucifixus for eight voices and basso continuo. The central score, Domenico Scarlatti's Stabat Mater, is one of the leading works for large choir and soloists of the Italian Baroque. Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger's majestic Stabat Mater brings the concert to a close. Two contemporary works for organ, Jehan Alain's Lamento and Jean Langlais's Incantation pour un jour saint, also find their place in this programme. Programme : Crucifixus by Antonio Lotti Selig sind die Toten by Heinrich Schütz Lamento by Jehan Alain Stabat Mater by Domenico Scarlatti Herr, nun lässest du deinen diener in Frieden fahren by Felix Mendelssohn Incantation for a holy day by Jean Langlais Stabat Mater by Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger Proceeds from the concert will be used to fund local projects run by the Maison de l'Adolescence. The MDA is a service designed to meet the specific needs of young people aged 10-11 to 25, parents of teenagers and professionals working with teenagers. The MDA's mission is based around 3 key areas: individual support and advice, group activities and prevention, and is founded on three fundamental values: free access, free membership and confidentiality. The MDAs of Haute-Saône and Nord Franche-Comté are joining forces to organise a conference on the theme of "The Construction of Identity in Adolescence", which will take place on Tuesday 26 November 2024 in Vesoul (Salle Alain Parisot). The conference is aimed at families and professionals to raise awareness of a fundamental issue. The aim of the conference is to provide parents and professionals working with teenagers with elements of understanding, points of reference and food for thought, so that they can provide better support. Attendance at the conference is free of charge, subject to prior registration. The Belfort Innerwheel Club is delighted to be organising this concert in partnership with the ARCANES vocal ensemble. This choir, directed by Jean-Michel Montornès, is made up of around twenty permanent singers and professional instrumentalists. The choir rehearses at the Belfort Conservatoire, with a focus on authentic interpretation. A guarantee of quality that has enabled Arcanes to perform several major works at renowned festivals. INNERWHEEL, the largest women's voluntary organisation in the world, has over 100,000 committed members who, through friendship, devote themselves exclusively to helping others by offering action, service and support. 100% of the donations collected are donated to associations that help women and children.
