With the arrival of cold weather, the warmth of a fireplace comforts as much as it warms. A symbol of family and hope, the chimney where the fire burns is also the place through which Father Christmas would pass to bring presents to children. To celebrate the end of the year in light, young and old are invited to make their own portable lanterns in which they can place a candle to keep watch over the long winter evenings.
